Why Give
All those faced with dying deserve access to trained, sensitive musicians who can perform for them the music they want and need. While physicians are doctors of the body, musicians can be called doctors of the soul. A Musical Heart is committed to paying such specialized musicians for their services so that they can be involved in this sacred work on a regular basis. Some feel that such work should be on a volunteer basis. We feel, if anything in this world deserves remuneration, it is the sacred work of trained musicians who nurture the souls of the dying. Their years of training and skill combined with their desire to help the dying deserve our highest respect. Our minimal goal is to cover their travel expenses and a small honorarium.
No musician will qualify for training unless playing music for the dying is a calling. Minimal remuneration, however, will enable those called to be involved in a sustainable manner. Only financial support will provide a stable foundation to make specially trained musicians permanently available for the dying. We need your help to lay this foundation.
