Julie Leven

Violinist Julie Leven is the founder and former Executive and Artistic Director of Shelter Music Boston, which provides classical music performances in homeless shelters and substance misuse recovery centers. She has performed around the world; has been a member of numerous orchestras, including the Handel and Haydn Society Orchestra, the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony, and Denmark’s Aarhus Symfonieorkester; and she can be heard as a soloist on numerous recordings. She’s a graduate of Oberlin College and Conservatory and of the Institute for Nonprofit Management and Leadership at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. Julie consults to organizations working to create social change with quality artistic and musical programming.
